Nah,

I haven't been to the track in so long I forgot what it's like :(

Now that I think of it, I ended up on my head at both of my last two track days.

I never gelled with that bike and was trying too hard.

Maybe not.  I use the track for what it's for.  Hauling ass and crashing.

I've crashed 3 times and they have all been at the track.

No wrecks on the street.

Not trying hard enough.

[laugh]

I've had some almosts.

I almost got hit by a car this summer.  We were out messing around on the 450 and it was hot as hell, I was dehydrated and tired and not making the greatest of decisions.

I ripped across a couple lanes (westbound) to get to the left turn lane (minimal traffic) and as I rolled up to the light (first in line) it turns green so I gas it.  I was under the impression the other lane (east bound) had the red and I had a green turn arrow.

Totally wrong on both accounts.  I sailed gracefully, almost leisurely, through the turn and an oncoming station wagon missed blasting me by what I figure was about 5 feet.

They had the green.  I could have sworn I had a green arrow.

I went home, had a huge glass of cold water, cooled off and put on cooler gear before heading back out.

I don't screw around with heat/dehydration anymore.

That wasn't nearly as close. I had time to brake and steer to miss that suburban.

Hmm..this seems like a pattern.

Everyone does that around here. Grass is treated like the alligator strips at the track :)

Well, I put the 450 and the 950 to bed for the winter.

The 950 is on front and rear stands and the 450 is on its pit stand.  I drained the fuel from the tanks and from the carbs to keep my pilot jets in good shape (450 is really sensitive to this) plugged in the battery tenders and that's all she wrote :(

Well sadly i have to put the 690 to bed for a few months also. Not cause of winter, it's 85 and sunny here in Cali. Shipping off again overseas for 2.5 months. Fuel stabilizer in the tanks and this time i got a solar panel "battery tender" and leave that guy plugged in. But i am still on the original factory battery from '08 so it may be time to replace it. Im only thinking of replacement because when i get back, me ant the 690 are going to take a little trip south....as in California ---> Ushuaia
