Hey,

I just swapped out the ape hanger handlebars, aka City bars, from my '99 M900 City for some Bikemaster Superbike bars.  Everything went smoothly until I mounted up the brake master cylinder.  It appears that the brake line from the master to the splitter is too long.

I didn't run into this problem when I had clip-ons on my '00 M750 but then again I didn't have to worry about a splitter.

Does a non-City 900 have a shorter line from the M/C to the splitter?

Thanks in advance.

Later, Doug

by 'splitter,' I am assuming you're talking about that T-joint in the line... and it would seem that the non-city models are certainly shorter.

as a temp fix, couldn't you just set the fitting so it's pointing up, instead of down?  that way it won't kink the line nearly as much

I think you're gonna need new lines.

Measure twice and call Spiegler.

Exactly!!
I went from clip on to stocks and tried to use existing lines...although they were stretched.
Anyway, the fitting at caliper broke while at 60 mph...thankfully no emergency stop was needed!!! bow down

Spiegler is good.  as DucHead said, measure 2x
