try buying a pistol here

I have heard the horror stories but don't know anyone who has done it.  Everyone I know out here with gund just buys them when they go home or TDY and brings them back.  That seems to not be a huge PITA.   laughingdp

I don't know about others but I am always willing to help out my (e)friends with stuff.  I've picked up things stateside and brought them back with me or had friends back on the mainland mail stuff out here to help save ass pain and money.   chug

Hi, (OP here) Im awakening this thread because i am finally taking the bike in to get it inspected. Its been a journey getting it insured because the registration was expired and on and on..... anyways, my question is mirrors. Do the mirrors have to be DOT? I have CRG Hindsight Bar End Mirrors on right now. Am i good? If not, does someone have stock mirrors i can barrow? I can provide collateral.
Thanks.

Any kind of mirror should work.  One thing though, if the bike originally had two mirrors then they require two mirrors, I think. I have the rules and I can check. Used to be one mirror would work but I dunno nowadays.

i have 2 mirrors and stock lights all around. The only thing i'm worried about now is that it had a tail chop done on it so i fabed up all the rear signal and reflectors mounts myself. It looks good but it certainly isnt stock.
Thanks for the info.

Besides mirrors, if you have the stock lights, DOT approved turnsignals and the required reflectors you should be good...from my recent experience, the non DOT turnsignals and lack reflectors is where they fail you...

You're welcome but I really didn't do anything.  It's all good.
