You cant reset maintenance reminders and not everyone needs to pay for maintenance,Im not formally trained by ducati but there is nothing in the maint that i cant do,.

I agree completely about the DIY and purchase VDST kits for my bikes (most recently for my Hyper), which allow you to reset maintenance wrench, view and clear DTC's, reset TPS, adjust idle fuel trim, etc. (what you can do varies by bike model).

http://www.technoresearch.com/Products/VDSTS-Motorbike/VDSTS_Motorbike_Features.htm

You can actually download the VDST software from the Technoresearch website (for free) to check it out before you buy the kit, tho many features are blacked out when not connected to a bike.

For the ultimate DIY'er who wants to save some $$, many of my rider friends swear by Ducatidiag, which is essentially a VDST software kit you compile.  Below is a thread detailing the (French) software/necessary cables and a link to the software itself (online translation engines are your friend):

For me, the ease of the Technoresearch VDST kit is worth the cost ($229).
Your maintenance wrench has been warned . . .
Ride safe,

one of the other points that was apparently brought up in commentary is that how the EPA drives a vehicle in testing seems to generally differ to how the vast majority of vehicles seem to be actually driven....

The Monroney Label states clearly that your mileage may vary based upon several factors. It can mainly be used to compare vehicles within a type.

You do NOT want the EPA to change their test procedure! If they DID, we'd all be driving same-day-acceleration vehicles from the Joan Claybrook, 55 MPH speedo era!!!  Smiley

BTW, the EPA mileage is based on pure gas. Add E-10 to the mix and the mileage drops typically 10%.

It's not the label she is referring it, it's the actual Honda literature.

Moreover, your comment about using E10 is correct, and that should be reflected in the estimate. they could be using pure oxygen for the intake to get better mpg and only driving on 3% grades downhill.

Can we bring this back to warranty requirements and away from specific contract law...

Please.
