Couldn't believe it!

I actually got a few hours to myself today to (read 1.2) to have a bit of a cruise.

Just great to be out riding!  Dolph

took it out for a ride today

been a few months between rain and working interstate

went for a squid to the shops , nothing too far

no gloves, shorts and tshirt

was great to feel the sun , cool air, hear the sounds of the bike , feel things working

in the past long rides were the thing to do  , today a few short trips were most enjoyable

i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

Got in a second ride on Monday (to follow the shorty on Saturday arvo) to Kinglake for a nice cuppa.

On Saturday, the suspension felt pretty horrible, so I set the front end compression and rebound damping to 1/2 way. The Monday Kinglake ride, whilst awesome to be out on the bike, felt underdone with the suspension.

Hmmmm, needed some help. Called my brother Koko64 and had a chat. Added a little (half a line) front spring preload and also tweaked the rebound damping (in by two clicks).

Of course this suspension tuning, as I explained to the good lady wife, needed to be tested on the same roads as the previous day!

Tuesday morning, off to Kinglake again. What a difference those small (but significant) adjustments made. My bro was spot on! Front end felt near perfect, both around town and in the tight and twisty stuff.

Awesome, looking forward to the next ride.

FYI Rob, I usually fit mine the other way round with the rack facing toward rider. It makes it so the weight falls inward of the rear axle instead of hanging out of the back of the bike. Just a thought for you.

Packed it all up and went for a test run yesterday i think i will need to keep the pack facing rear, as there is no way i can get on, being a fat barstard and all    :'(
