I've become an old man on an old man's bike

WWW
« on: June 22, 2008, 06:44:46 PM »

was just trawling through google (Dock style on Desmocedici) looking for bigger Monster news and came across this.

It's only a Computer Gen mock-up but something to think about.

The small amount of info is here

There's also this one here

Yep, have seen it.

But I think something was said that the existing 696 frame won't take a 4V motor, so it would need a redesigned frame.  Huh?

yeah I think we were talking about it at Motori.
Peter from Frasers said they don't go together.
But it's nice to look at the possibility of what it could look like.

what a engine to have in a monster but it still looks like shit they need to try and ceep the retro look and it would be better for looks and for the rider if it had a fairing or screen

I thought the 696 looked a little "odd" until I saw one in the flesh...... Changed my mind completely.......  waytogo

Don't get me wrong, I do like the current Monster retro look but this new look grows on you in the flesh......  Cool

Like gangrene?

So you remove the gangrenous bits and replace them with cool carbon, titanium and other choice bits (like Saddle Box seats..  cheeky ).....  Grin

Big T, people already know I am a fan, I've just been waiting to see what will happen with a bigger Monster.
i'll wait to see what happens with this years European bike shows before I get serious about a no.2 bike.
Or upgrading the Monster.

This is still just a representation, as we know the 848/1098 engine don't fit in the 696 frame.
So I'll reserve judgment until something breaks cover.
There's still the 116hp item I can shop for.
As you said in the other thread, slow and steady no rush to change just food for thought.
