Or for someone who feels overwhelmed by the transition from CVT scooter.

I especially like the integrated storage in the traditional fuel tank area.

+1 on commuter potential
Hard to beat at that price.

Thought this was going to be about the new Triumph big Tiger.
Assault commuter. Any bike with this:
- Large 21-liter secure internal storage area (positioned where the fuel tank typically rests in other models) accepts a helmet or other gear for added versatility.
Seems to be trying to peg the commute/urban market IMO.
The price is sure appealing

Good price though, and probably a practical (if not boring) machine.

Name a good looking ADV bike.
They all look they took a turn at the ugly stick whipping tree... Just how it is I guess. Hard to be rugged and sexy, unless you're DP

There isn't a damn thing rugged looking about that bike though. It's just ugly...even for the segment. The V-Strom (another good bike) has competition in the looks dept.!
At least the GS1200 and KTM990 ADV look tough, the KTM SMT looks kinda sinister, the MTS1200 and new Triumph 800s looks like refined GSs, and the Stelvio is actually kind of cool looking...definitely not a copy of anything. This bike is just ugly though...that pointy-ass beak
Probably a good bike though.
The Benelli is probably the best looking one...it's a POS though from most accounts. Honda could have done better with the looks is all.

Well, I don't think it's an adventure bike...but I get what you're saying.
Yeah, I don't see that being a real ADV bike either. It's got some of that style flavor, but from the description it'll be more a commuter, get-around-er sort of bike.

Toss the new Tiger Explorer (1200 cc model that just launched) on that pile

My wife fell in love with the NC700X (and the NC700S) at the motorcycle show in December, primarily because of the huge storage area where the tank should be.

I like the storage space where the gas tank usually goes, but it looks like it would crap it's self on a back country trail. A KLR is still cheaper.....
