Ducati has always been able to sell Monsters, regardless of the economy. A 43% increase is more than just selling Monsters. They just grabbed a big chunk of the market share that they did not have before. Simple as that. Selling Diavels to people that would normally buy Harleys does not mean that you'll see Diavels in every corner. Same with GS and Multis.

Every time I'm in my local dealers there always seem to be a few people looking at the Monsters.

Where is Derby when you need him? He would simply "find" a sales comparison from 2010 and 2011 by models. let's put it this way, if that report showed an increase of Monsters sales of more than 15 or 20%, I would be very surprised. Again, I'm not saying that the Monster is not the best selling bike made by Ducati, because it is. But to increase by 43%, you have to sell a shitload of other bikes, including a huge increase in the market stated above. Not to mention that the 848 also sells very well.
