You've got a gran can... looks more suitable than an old honda cruiser  Grin

Gran Canyon needs new tires before it'd even "think" of doing the Shenny500...and I am not sure I want to "invest" in new tires on it since I am seriously thinking about parting ways with it altogether....the guy that I would potentially be riding with that offered me the ticket would be likely to ride his 950 Super Enduro R....

What size is the front on the GC? 17", 19"? I can help you with a rear Tourance.

Some folks over at ADVRider are organizing a touristic ride through Michaux State Forest in mid-to-late October to enjoy the foliage. I plan on going, link here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=632871&page=43

I've got a SHINKO 705 110/80-19 TL front and a METZELER Tourance 130/80-17 Radial TL if you want. Tubes or Tube-less for you?

Sort of...

Both the GS and I took a pretty good beating, but it was great!

Lessons learned:
 - get good gear, doesn't need to be expensive, but it does need to protect the areas at risk. I had one fall where the bike landed on my right leg, pinning it down to rocks and tree stubs. My boots held up fine and I didn't even feel it!  waytogo
 - hand guards, bash plate and crash bars all protected the bike as my gear did with me, again worth it. waytogo
 - get a trailer and tow the bike, makes the whole event much more relaxing.
 - SKIP THE HERO SECTIONS! I finished one on Saturday morning that was supposed to be an easy 'B' and it ended up being a hard 'A'. Not all of it, just a relatively short bit, however it was a pretty hellish bit!  Shocked Shocked Shocked
 - I SUCK! And so does the GS, but not as much as me. The hero section really showed me how much I lack in skill/training and physical condition. bang head

Aside from getting my @$$ handed to me by the hero section I had a great time. I was positively surprised by the spirit of camaraderie between riders, complete strangers helping each other pick up the bikes, pushing them up hill, checking to make sure stopped riders were OK  waytogo applause

So here I am: beat, yet happy! laughingdp

I remember seeing them, but didn't get a chance to chat. Next year I'd like to get a trailer so I can camp on site and be more social.
