Hey Paul welcome (imaginative mob up there aren't you ... I think every second person must be named Paul cheeky)

If the plate says '05 are you sure it is a 1000?

As far as I know the 800 was released in '05 and the 1000 wasn't available until '06.

Hi Paul welcome to the board! waytogo

Betty, S2R1000 was a 2006 model introduction but I too had a late 2005 plated bike!

Its funny though I started reading your comment thinking the imaginative comment was for the red bike with the white stripe! Grin

Shit eh. I thought the 800 actually came out kinda late in '05 Undecided

Ahh, if it wasn't for the white stripe Wink ... hmm, a red Ducati - very imaginative laughingdp

Well my all red 1000 did come out in 2005 and it is a 1000 (well maybe 99* something or other).  So there were two 1000cc ducs in 2005, learn something new every day.

Welcome Paul and Steve.  Okay we have plenty of new people from NSW and Qld.  Where's all the new blood from Vicbloodytoria!  Roll Eyes

Hey all and thanks.

I was also confused and a little sceptical; the plate says 05/2005 (just checked).  I have also verified the coding from the engine itself; it is definitely a 1000 (or 992 to be precise by memory).  She is a Japanese import, but had almost no km on her; they redo everything when they come in (i.e. all fluids, and she has new belts); it is a bit of a gamble but being a 2 valve I think a worthy risk (especially for the price I got her for).

Hi to Monsterdorf, Brimo and Loony; keen on a ride one day, as long as it is slow (I am far from a fast rider).

Showed the missus some pics of the pipes I was looking at; she didn't like the look of them at all!  In her opinion the titanium arrows will better suit my bike.  In her opinion the bigger carbon pipes won't suit the red/white combo.  I know it is a can of worms, but any thoughts?  And where can you get cheap arrows from....

Name: Lawrence
Age: North of 35.
Ride: 1994 M900
Do: Desk Monkey, wannabe photographer, occasionally a writer (mostly for video game mags).
Think: Video games were better in the 90s.

It's my first motorbike, and of course it's a Ducati - something I've wanted for a very, very long time.

Pleased to make your acquaintance.  o/
