Am a bit new to this but was wondering about group rides and trips? Also how do i put pic on my profile thing at the side???

Welcome, and a nice road you have at your doorstep!

There are regular-ish group rides and adhoc trips that happen. Group rides usually start in syd, and alternate north, south, west and typically attrach around 20 riders, sometimes more sometimes less.

Trips are more adhoc, and you'll find that there are certain individuals that usually find their way into either planning or tagging along to trips. Oz monster trips have included week long adventures to PI for the wsbk round, round trips up to the oxley that are 2-3 day adventures, and things in between.

We welcome riders of all capability and experience, and try to ensure that all people ride their own ride, and don't get suckered into riding above their experience and capability. Safety is a high priority, we encourage people to ride safely and respect that everyone's out to have a good ride, and most importantly, come home in one piece.

I'd encourage you to come along on a planned day trip and meet the troops, we are a mixed bunch from all walks! After a while around here and on rides, you'll find others with a common groove. Some of my closest friends were met right here, that's testament to the community which is the DMF and specifically the Oz Monster community.

Enjoy!

Pete here from Melbourne.

40 yrs of riding. Mostly jap and British bikes
Like longer rides, recently over Himalayas from Nepal to pakistan, MLB to cairns, as well as commuting, my style is extreme commuting, basically hooning, but on my 2l cruiser at present.
Looking for a monster 1100 evo as something different.
Have some medical problems, so the lighter weight is a bonus.

Will probably wait till jan or feb to get a 2012 complianced bike. At my age, it may be my last one if I keep it for 5 yrs or so.  A Ducati looks like the go at the moment.

Will be lurking for now.

Welcome Sam,

just a word of warning, beware of the oil slick just outside of Kandos heading towards illford. I had a slight mishap two Sundays ago with my Kwaka. Welcome to the board and I hope we can catch up some time soon! waytogo
