That's all sorts of cool stylin' goodness, but I'm not actually sure how much I'd want to ride it on a regular basis.

I like them for a retro looking bike, and you can buy them new.
Anyone want to tour India with me, buy a couple of 500s and ride?

Does the Royal Enfield 500 cc engine really make 40 hp. I thought it made 19 rwhp.

Some nice bikes indeed. The RE's look good bobbed or cafe'd. Here are some other Indian made bikes on location not so far from India.
Enfield with some custom bits and pieces.
Another Indian bike the Bajaj (blue bike and maroon bike in the picture). Very popular but oh so crappy.

The factory RE 500 is 27hp, those photos are from a custom shop and he's claiming 40 hp at the crank.
