depends on the bike, of course... if it's something collectable or in high demand, that's one thing. I've also noticed that with bikes, people seem to think they can recoup what they
spent "invested" in upgrades
I still say 3. in cash.

Oh yeah - there's some yahoo on ebay trying to sell a KTM supermoto for 20 grand. In his listing he explains that the bike he's selling is basically the spec of the new model w/o mods that's is 0 miles retail for 9k. Right dude, I'm going to buy yoru 20 grand used bike, or just call the dealer he mentions by name in his listing and get a new one for less than half.
And there's a dude on ADV who spent a lot on power coats and polish for another KTM - says I have over 15 grand invested.
No no... you didn't invest. You spent. Deal
As noted, find out what fully serviced means. At 11k mi it's due for a valve check soon. Also all it's fluids are possibly old and need to be replaced - this includes fork oil. Aaaand the belts need to be asked about. They are specked to have a 12k mile or 2(ish) year service life. Many folks ride belts to 3 or so years on bikes that don't hit the 12k mark. But if they are original belts - danger will robinson!
Get that service history, let us knwo and we can tell you the butchers bill on getting it back to shape - How are yoru wrenching skills BTW?
