Personal Pretext

« on: February 16, 2012, 08:59:01 AM »

Well gents, the weather is warming and and a mans thoughts turn to the smell of gasoline and hot rubber.

So I thought I might start a thread where folks can post up plans and see if we can coordinate on common interest events.

My plans so far are:
Cornerspin - Date TBD
SuperMoto track day - Mid sept. Plans aren't finalized yet.

Wants:
Cali SBK school.
Maybe another well put on track day. I'd like to get out on the KTOOOM

I registered for Sports bike cornering class at Quantico.

If I get some free time , thinking about going to track for first time. But still debating If I should take some other classes before hitting the track.

I am also thinking about signing up for the sports bike cornering course in Quantico (Upshur) in April but may change my mind and sign up for March if the seats are still available.

When I signed up they have classes only on 04/26 or 04/27. First day was for 50 sportbike riders and second for 50 non-sportbike riders.

They only have basic or advanced riders course on march.

The Ducati Revs Virginia at VIR is going to be a great event, run by Cornerspeed, sponsored by DucPond and the local Ducati club , with some DNA involvement. http://www.ductalk.com/p/1211676129/ducati-event-ducati-revs-virginia-vir-april-23-24 - Gene

FYI: Given all the discussion about whether the Monster is a sportbike or not, for the purpose of taking the Advanced Cornering Clinic (and which day to sign up for), Quantico considers them... sportbikes.  chug

We are trying to get military interest for Jason Pridmore's STAR school on August 23rd at VIR.  We need to get 50 riders to make this happen.  They have full length Dainese suits for use..although they ran out of boots out in Cali last year, they will allow the military combat boots.  Gay but it works.  The gear rental is free and the track time/instruction is free.  You just need to get you and your bike to VIR.

I am in for this and can transport 1 or 2 other bikes which can help on the $$$
