Rock slide on SR-14 this morning near Dog Creek and the turnoff for Cook-Underwood Rd...
I feel sorry for the guy whose full-size Dodge truck got nailed. Can't see it in the pics, but he must've come around the curve and hit one of the boulders, because his truck was kinda messed up. He'd have driven it off the rock pile and away from the cliff face, but he was high-centered on a large rock. As I took the second pic, the winds kicked up and more loose stuff started coming down off the cliff face. Why they don't have that cyclone fence screen covering this rock face is anyone's guess... there are some dangerous-looking chunks of rock hanging off the face of the cliff.
Be careful when riding SR-14. I've seen freshly fallen chunks of rock laying beside the highway on numerous occasions.
