Today in 1940 – In Tacoma, Washington, the original Tacoma Narrows Bridge collapses in a windstorm, a mere four months after the bridge's completion.

Large chunks of the roadway are still down there, I've dived on them on a few times. Plenty of current through the Narrows, a fun drift dive.

Woo Hoo! Who won?

Rekindling a foreign owned horse, also the youngest in the field, won it. Ridden by Corey Brown. Corey has won the famous race once before.

Now, confession time! I had to google that info! Lol!

The Melbourne Cup is called 'The race that stops the nation', but I seldom take any real interest.
