Just switched over from Pirelli to Michellins.
Not liking it so far. The M's seem twitchy and overly sensitive to road oddities. The Ps seemed solid and grounded.
Maybe I just need to get familiar with them.

I notice the same thing with my Power Roads, then tend to wander a bit on cracks and seams when going straight line. Not bad once you get used to it. On the other hand, they stick well enough to pull wheelies in the rain.

Hmm. Interesting observation. I'm running Pilot Powers, and notice that they too wander a bit on seams and whatnot. However... once I got used to them, I realised that while they transmit a lot of road info to the rider, they're still confidently grippy.
One thing I can speak to: the Pilot Powers aren't bad at all on steel bridge grating (I've been riding back and forth across that long-A Hood River toll bridge quite a bit). They meander back and forth a little, but it never feels like the bike is trying to change lanes. My car is actually quite a bit worse on those gratings.
I might have to try the Pirellis next time, just to see how they feel. Don't think I'm going to touch Dunlops with a ten-foot pole, though. I know some of you racer types like 'em, but my family has seen two CBRs go down while riding Dunlops, and both times it seemed the tires were part of the problem (not
all
, but a significant part). My Michelins and my brother Dave's Pirellis have never given us problems, they've always stuck like glue.

I've heard lots of good stuff lately about the Continental Attacks. Might give those a try next time.

My Road Attacks have been awesome so far. 3000+ miles and going strong. They were a bit underinflated at the beginning of the season and started to flat-spot a bit, but some additional air pressure and lots of twisties and they're doing fine.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Well guys... I pulled the trigger. I swapped my 848 for a new Strada 1100s. Not as pretty as the 848, but much more usable for what I want to do. Longer rides, and many with the lil lady. Julie is already excited to do some rides on back this weekend. Corsa hooked me up. Now I can go ride it like I stole it. [moto]

Kewl!
Did you get the black '08 1100S that they had leftover? That was soooo tempting. I had them run the numbers on it... but I just wasn't up for taking out a $14,000 loan. Not when I'm trying to buy property out here within the next year. I just paid off my car last December, and like not having a vehicle payment.
So yeah... which one did you get? The leftover black '08, or an '09?
Speaking of passenger duty... I think I'm going to buff out E's old SS rear cowlings as best I can and take a couple of ladies for rides this weekend.
Corsa got a price quote of $350 from their bodywork guy to refinish them... I blew my spending money on ammo at the gun show a couple weeks ago, so that'll have to wait a month. Anyway, we'll see how the SS does with a passenger here shortly...

The obligatory snapshots from Vista House this past weekend...
And this is from the road I commute to work every day, Hwy 141, less than a 1/4 mile from my apt driveway.
My crappy camera phone doesn't begin to do that justice... it's a postcard view of the mountain over the Columbia and Hood River on my way to work every day.
Life is good.

UPS sucks!
Or at least my driver does.
2 days in a row failed to deliver package. Leaves a nice little note about not leaving it though.
Ever heard of knocking?
Sheesh!

Ryan, I keep looking at those Stradas. That back seat looks great. I showed it to my wife but she says it doesn't look as cool as the monster.

Yes, the black 1100s they had left over. I was very happy with the offer they had on it. It aint at pretty as the 848 or the Monster, but when you ride it, you forget all about that.
