Random musings from the weekend...
After being lazy all winter I finally got my 12k service work finished this weekend with the TB synch and idle speed set. Why did I wait so long? Smoother running and using less gas.
Took a nice long ride to Cougar by myself. It was a good day and only got hot on the way home. Since the zipper on my jacket broke I had a cool breeze for that part. First good long ride I've had all season, really nice. Need a mesh jacket anyway, it's hot these days.
Why is it the more I hang around Mark the more I want to own a little, vintage Honda twin? I stopped at Beaverton honda and drooled over a bunch of their little vintage bikes.

make the beast with two backs! It too hot to be driving around in a big brown aluminum truck!
Aluminum is a very efficient conductor of heat.

That sounds like no fun at all.
I HATE this heat. And it's only gonna get worse for the next few days. Anyone want to go on vacation to Alaska for the next week?

On my drive in from LA (Pine) this morning (hurt my knee last Thursday... gonna try and ride tomorrow or the next day), it was 51 degrees F at my house. Within the next 4 mi to the freeway (97), it dropped to 42 degrees as I passed over the river. Bumped back up to 55 by Sunriver, 49 degrees around Newberry/Lava Caves, and by the time I got to work in Bend it was 62. It's supposed to get up to 96 degrees today. That's a 54 degree difference! No wonder my helmet fogs up all the damn time... lol Welcome to Central Oregon!
(This journey was from 3am to 3:30am PST) I love it! Have to carry extra gear but feeling the temperature change like that is what it's all about and the gauge on the Audi just confirmed what my body feels every day on the bike. That experience is amazing and wouldn't miss it for the world...
Ride safe all!
