If I can but that's doubtful. Schedule already full. I have been riding to work all week though which is really nice again. A little cool in the mornings with the mesh jacket but nice. I take the long way home every day now. The wife doesn't seem to mind so long as I arrive with chocolate.

I am bored. What's up peeps? Anybody riding today or this weekend?
I'm taking the scenic way home from work tonight (SR14), since I'm driving the roadster today.
I think I put the top down on that car more often than my wife does. Oh, and the handling is positively sublime... if it was a manual transmission, that'd be bliss.
Anyway, riding... the wife and I will be up at Vista House sometime Saturday. Probably meeting up with my brothers, too. But than I need to go drop the bike off at Cheshire for the valve adjustment, so a couple twisty roads in the Gorge is probably all the riding I'm gonna get in.

I hadn't ridden since my last wreck.. so I fixed up the race bike and rode her around the block a couple times... fugly beast.. but she runs good again... then I hopped up on the 999 and rode her around the block squid style... dirt bike gloves, and helmet, with a nice white t-shirt... woo... still too hot to ride... so came back in to the house... nice a/c and some beers...

Took a long late ride down Skyline and old Skyline and back. Hot when I left, cool when I got back.

Erica & I went for a ride on Saturday... Started off alright, then hotter than hell once we got to Troutdale. The Historic Columbia River Highway (Hwy 30) was nice. Well shaded, and very pleasant whenever we were near the waterfalls. But then we stopped for gas in Troutdale and it was sweltering... even once we got moving on I-84, it was like being blasted by a hair dryer set to "High Heat".

I'm thinking of only taking my mesh jacket when I ride down to California in two weeks. It has a little wind breaker stuffed in the pocket on the back if it gets cool. I'll take a fleece vest too in case I need it underneath but since I'll be doing most of my riding mid day and daylight hours I can't imagine I'll be cold. I'll check the forecast for a few towns along the way before I leave. Oh, and I'll probably put my Camelback bladder into the back pad pocket of the jacket so I can drink as I ride.

The 10 day forecast looks like 60's and sunny all down the coast for when I'm travelling. No mesh jacket required I suppose but at least I won't be sweating the whole way down.

Nice.
I think next week is supposed to be nice here, too.

Dude comes up to me and asks if he can ride Lili . . .
I say "no".
He says "I'd probably die anyway".
I say "Yah, trying to get on."
You shoulda seen the looks . . . not only from him but the people within ear shot.

It's a pretty good IPA. I'd happily crack one open and enjoy it with some burgers or brats off the grill.
As a random aside: I'm currently enjoying Widmer's Sunburn summer ale. Goes great with steaks, burgers, brats... pretty much anything cooked on the charcoal grill.
