Search is your friend. You will find that rear attach point spinning insert is a goodwill tank replacement for your bike, not to be confused with a recall.

Goodwill ? My search has brought me to this thread. What do you know?

Take it to your dealer and let them look at it. If it is spinning they will contact Ducati for a new tank. The new one will have a through insert, just like the Euro model has had from the beginning. This means that the insert head will be visible at the top surface of the tank and can now be held with an Allen as you loosen the screw from below.

That's my plan but I have a question for you all. Would you?

A. Take it to the dealer and let them know about the stripped bolt then also ask them to install my Termi kit while the tank is off thus saving money on the labor they would have charged me for taking the tank apart.

Or

B. Take it to the dealer ask them to install the Termi kit but make mention of the bolt issue but that I have not touched it and let them find out on their own.

Re:#2, you think they won't notice the head missing from the bolt that cut off?

Nothing was cut. I haven't touched a thing.

Update: it's been 2 weeks since I dropped the monster off at the dealer. I called them earlier in the week to check in and they reported that Ducati has approved the warranty claim and the replacement tank was on its way.

I had to Dremel the head of the bold off.

this is why I thought you had done something to the bolt...........
