Was thinking about putting this kit on my monster 620, but im not sure how much gain im going to get for the buck?  Do you think its worth doing on a 620?

Beast-R? No...Beast, yes... Unless you have cams...otherwise, the R is not for you.

Not sure what else you've already done to it, but engine mods on the 620 are generally considered a losing proposition. Yeah, you can get it to put out some serious numbers, but the bang:buck ratio is pretty low.

Money would probably be better spent upgrading suspension and brakes, then enrolling in track days and learning how to ride the thing in anger. A well set up 620 can keep up with most things in the twisty bits if the rider knows what they're doing.

Best bang for the buck on a 620 = 14t front sprocket and lightened flywheel. Intake will require fueling change to see any benefit and will cost more $$$. You may see more top end, but will lose low end torque, and the 620 doesn't have much to begin with. I've done it all to my 620. Do the 14t and flywheel first. You'll feel more from those two mods than anything else you can reasonably do to that bike.

this is the opposite effect i would like it to have  Embarrassed      I got an email back from tpo, pleasently surprised, and said the r kit is not for my bike. that just the normal intake would be better suited for smaller motors.  I like the look of the pods and how it opens her up.

I already have a 14t, but might try the lightened flywheel.  Bike is in the shop for some suspention tuning.

I kinda got the mod itch... and would love for this little bike to pull like a freight train

Buy a stock flywheel on eBay or the likes. There are a lot of Ducs that use the same one. Take it to a machine shop and have them mill it down. Simple work on a lathe. Then you can do the install/swap yourself and have zero waiting time to ride. See houw you like it, and if you do... sell your stocker. Net $0 mods are sweet.

I went from about 4 lbs to about 1.5 lbs on my flywheel, and love it. It spins up so fast. It pulls like a mini-620 cc-freight train. Seriously, I can lift the front wheel without the clutch now. <and I'm almost 190 lbs with gear on>

for performance on the intake, get an aftermarket air filter and hack up your airbox lid. sounds weird but thats the best way to go.

I wasn't very interested in this thread before but I am now! This sounds like something I would do to my 620 down the line.

Can anyone provide any more info on this? Sounds like a interesting and fairly simple proposition but the description is a bit vague.  I'd like to try it and would be happy to post pics of the process if someone can point me in the right direction.

pull your airbox lid and cut it as close to the detents that secure it as you can (hacksaw or dremel).  the goal is to open it up as much as possible without sacrificing its ability to securely hold the air filter.

This is the 'open' air box. One needs a K&N type fileter (unless you never see rain) and then can cut material off the existing lid until there's just enough to secure the filter in place, but no more. Alternately people have fabricated an aluminum rectangle to hold the filter down whit appropriate clips (or in a couple cases long zip ties).

If you do this, just remember that you're altering the air/fuel mix and will need to accommodate for the added air coming in. If not, the bike will be running lean - so probably making less power and definitely running hotter. Get it too lean and you can burn up valves or ven melt a hole in a piston

I have the tpo beast on my bike, with the 14T, and lightened flywheel. It might not be as fast but it sure sounds a lot faster.
