AFIK there's no one who makes (commercially mass produced) carbon mirrors. All the 'carbon' ones you see online are plastic or other substance that's been screen printed.

And there's a ton of variables that would play into weight - so this is just apples, oranges, pears, and star fruit sort of discussion.

Aaaand why? If you're looking to shed weight mirrors are probably not the most effective place to look.

i like the look of the dual star mirrors; it gives the appreance of no mirror...but one question though

How does it fit/look with clip on? How effective are they? and Pics of it on clipons would be a cherry on top.

I had some on my 620. Sold years ago, so no photos. But they were mounted on a set of apex clip-ons inside all the gee-gaws. From the front, almost invisible. In use they worked remarkably well. The glass is convex so they have a good field. You wer looking out under your arms, so the view was framed on the inside by your torso and by the arm on the outside. Being so far inboard you couldn't see right behind within a certain distance, but on the flip had almost no blind spot to the sides. There was only a foot or two of blind area where the mirror view didn't over-lap with my peripheral vision.

they take a little getting used to at 1st in adjustment...but work well!

I used to not run them and head check instead. I explained to the police what I was doing and they used their discretion, but those days are over now.
There is a hardening of attitude towards motorcyclists by authorities in my state. The state of Victoria in Oz has arguably the harshest road laws in any free country.

Being a motorcycle anorexic, I resent having to put them back on, or buying them. At present I am complying, but looking for options. Every bit helps with weight loss. I have dropped about 15 kgs off the bike already.

Encouraged by the fact that these lightweight options are so affordable. There is also that helmet with rear view mirror built in, but it ain't dot approved yet I reckon. The day it is I will try my luck again.

maybe just be sure to take a dump before you ride, weight savings will probably be more...
