his shit was mostly tied to the 'stones, same as most.  he just had the speed to catch up with the aliens after they warmed up.

this year's tires are/are supposed to be better.  and that's capirossi's job now, or a huge part of it.

Not sayin' he ain't got the speed, just sayin' he needs to create a bigger window for himself.  Having your best times being posted on almost cooked tyres gives you a very small window to optimize your performance. So he will continue tofall prey to riders who can manage that at an earlier point in the race, and for a longer period

Rossi is becoming a joke.  Edwards was within sniffing distance of Rossi up until Rossi's last ditch ( hah, last ) effort at a faster 12th place time.

Especially after that QP...

2.179 seconds off the pace and just in front of Colin Edwards.

Man o man

In other news, Crutchlow looked good as did Spies and Hayden

Props to whoregay for bumping Stoner out of pole position!

Ben qualified well, but does he have a bike for tomorrow?  Crashed again.

Way to go Nicky. Middle of the second row.

I found this juxtaposition... amusing:

I'm praying we have a start to finish battle between Casey and Jorge.  I expect the battle for third could be 6 riders deep as well.

My money's still on the Australian kid.

Ben looked good, but in the gravel twice this weekend.
Got his left hand caught between the right side fairing upper and the triple/clipon on that last one.

Hayden's flogging that Duc, Rossi is searching for feel.

Crutchlow and Dovi ripping on the Satellite Yamahas.
