Evap canister removal in CA

So I really want to get rid of the hunk of useless (to me) junk that's also known as the evap canister.

My question is this: has anyone in CA run into issues when renewing registration, etc? (do bikes even get called in for smog checks ?)

they dont check but hang onto it in case they start

 No smog check in Cali. 

 One of the first mods I did was remove the evap canister and it can be easily replaced.
