I'd say wait, unless you've been dying to get this done and have the money already set aside, or you're a skinny bastard like me and the suspension is waaay too stiff, or you're a fat bastard like [redacted!] and you've really got no suspension left.
Quit talking about me, you bastard!!

Don't mess with brakes.
These felt a little ummmm lacking at the end of the day:

Besides, if your bike gets dirty Jim is going to have his new wash bottle contraption to clean things off. Right Jim?
Surely you didn't think I was being serious. laughingdp

As the announcers like to say "He's a deeeemon on the brakes!"

Surely you didn't think I was being serious. laughingdp

I have only know you to tell the unvarnished truth.

Yes I am. Speaking of which, do they typically have skinny-bastard-sized leathers for rent, or should I just buy some from the skinny bastard leathers store?

I'd call and see what they have. No need to buy leathers if you don't have to.

Tires are Metzler something or others (pretty cheap, but not the cheapest) with about 3k miles. They will have about 5k by the time we hit the track.

Well as long as the tread is still in great shape...

Bah. I want to win.  Wink

Oh, well in that case get a lot of titanium fasteners and carbon bits!

And one more thing - how's the chain? Is it riveted or use a master link? If it's got a master link get rid of that and get a rivet link.

To be honest, most of the stuff you have to worry about is just what you'd want for good maintenance anyways. Unless you're Jim.  Tongue

I just changed the oil, so I will have to put on about 3k miles from now til then so I won't feel like I wasted $90 worth of oil.  Not a problem.

I have a KN filter that I can wire up. Fancy drain plug and bar-end sliders are on order. Thanks again fellers.
$90 for oil? What do you use, unicorn tears?

Mobil 1 10-40 synth from Advance Auto costs about $10 quart. Do it yourself and save money!

Ha! Motul at Coleman$ for $70 for 4L + KN filter + beer = about $90. Me and the bike change our fluids together.

Get the Mobil1 10-40 moto. At the register you usually get another $2 off bringing it to about $8 a qt. GeorgeCLS said it was the best stuff available and he *made* oils for a living. There was an epically long thread "THE oil thread" on the old board. Though the discussion could be a bit all over George said that the mobil stuff was about as good as it gets. He also really like the Amsoil EaM filters - but they are harded to track down.

nah, it's a money comment. Saving $35 an oil change is nothing to sneeze at.

Plus nearly any Advance Auto will carry Mobil1, while Motul is a bit harder to come by.

Yup, yup. I'm going to change the OP to reflect the chosen date. I'm hoping to stick around for the Monday session as well if I can con Randy into it...he's an addict though, so should be pretty simple.
