Talked to him on the phone.  He is adding the cost of his modifications to KBB value.  Not sure how it is in the used bike world, but in used cars that never works.

This is particularly funny: "I've had a lot of interest and people are thinking about it, but I need to sell it now so I'm dropping the price to $9800"

also theres concrete stuck to the engine.

I want $6000. firm. i need to it for hookers and blow. and we all know neither are cheap.

Some people think that the $2000 or $3500 exhaust makes it worth more.   Stock is worth more, in my book.  There is a lot of sh!t like that where people think that their sh!t is worth a lot, they end up owning it forever.

A $2000 exhaust is worth more but to expect to get 100% back at resale is a little crazy.
More realistic average return is probably 10-20% back at resale.

Yes.  That's exactly what I did.  Because it would be silly of me to create an account on the top Google hit for "ducati monster forum" when I'm researching purchasing a used monster.  </sarcasm>

I've been able to answer most of my questions just by searching, therefore avoiding asking the same questions that noobs ask time and again.  I couldn't find an answer to the question about the resale value of aftermarket parts.  Thanks for your help.

but you can sell it for atleast 50% easily as a seperate part.

i dont plan on selling my bike for more than $2000 when it comes down to it. and you can rest assure it will be bone stock. at that price, it might just be worth it to turn it into a stunt bike.

oh and i wasnt kidding about the concrete.

heres a pic  Tongue no i havent found a way to wash it off without hitting it with a hammer and using a brass brush to scrape it off. either the motor is going to trash itself and i buy a new one or send it off for a rebuild, or it never breaks. one of those two are bound to happen, im sure of it. Cheesy oh thats aluminum tape so my engien will warm up faster when its freaking 10 degrees outside. Angry. (it helps a lot, still takes about 15 mins to get off the LO marker though

Grin glad we can all help! you will find the prices avg out based on your location and how far you are willing to travel. theres lots of examples in our for sale section. you will in the end pay what you are willing to pay. not how much its actually worth.

That pretty much answers any questions I have about the durability of the motor.   Grin

I'm being picky about what I want, so I have to be patient.

Stock is worth more, in my book.

so if there were two bikes with the exact same mileage and history you would not only choose to go stock over an arrow/termi full system (or slip on for that matter) but pay a little extra for stock?

explain.
