I do have a few friends who have been ticketed for the "1 Red (rear)" part of the above standard. It's why moto shops sell those little thumb screw nickle sized reflectors that go into your plate.
And I have more than a few friends who have been ticketed for:

Jeez! You must live in a thoroughly crime free area for the police to worry about those items. I have several friends who are LEOs and they tell me that they do not focus on those sort of items, but they will gladly include them in the charges if someone is uncooperative, cops a crappy attitude, or deliberately disrespects the officer. Being a dumbass and trying to take advantage of an officer can have it's rewards.
