O M G EPIC RIDE TODAY!
Woke up at the crack of dawn, windows still open. Last of the stars shaking out their last twinkle to the dawn. The birds were out performing the sounds of the city. Perfect thick Spring air. No hope of sleeping further.
Last nights preparation paid off. Water, air, gas, all set and dialed in. Nothing to do but coffee and mount up.
57F at dawn, pink light splashing houses on the way out of town and across the golden gate.
I owned the road. Not a soul bothered my path until almost 8:AM passing through Mill Valley.
I got around a couple of yocals early on Lucas Valley RD and that was that.
Up the hill passing wild turkies out for a stroll.
Splashes of Sun on dry roads heating up tires.
Dodge zip & booming Ducati juking through the tight curves.
little towns, reservoir, open throttle. Caught up to an M4 and a 1098 lolli-gaging around the lake.
Of course, they were having none of that, kicked it down a gear and rocketed away. I gave chase through the goat track as we blasted passed about 11tby bicyclists on the way into PointReyes Station.
Gas station. We exchanged hellos and they took off. Dudes I'd never met before.
I went for Bovine Bakery hoping to see a familiar face. I check my watch and realized other group rides weren't even starting yet juat after 9 and were probably going to sit in traffic all day instead of ride.
I pressed on north.
I was effing around with a new video camera mount when
I spotted a motard on my ass. He had this cockeyed helmet angle like he was thinking, " Are you facebooking or riding?"
I waved him past. Two salutes later my camera was trained on him and we were breaking rules. It's more fun to video someone in front of you.
He worked that motard all the way to the racetrack gave me a wave and headed up the Marshal Wall.
I went on the the racetrack alone again.
4 laps later some traffic was starting to show so I beat it home.
Or rather to the golden gate park. I bought some shorts in the Haight, pealed leathers and found a lake to purch amungst rediculous patches of flowers and trees exploding with blossoms.
I finally found a friend here as well and she has good legs.
Today is paradise in the Bay.
