Mod addiction - so what?

I didn't get around to painting the swingarm or the horizontal head, but I'll get back to that later 

The most difficult mod was the IMA Model 4 triple.
It's NOT plug & play, but once modified to fit - I like it
(custom steering lock bracket, machined to fit the U-bracket, drilled for instrument cluster)



Hard ano'd serviced forks, painted black fork bottoms, DP signals, raised seat with HydroTurf custom cover, SSR longer kickstand, shorter and opened side covers, new Rizomas, semi opened belt covers





My bike has, after 45k miles, earned it's new paint.
I love the basic red paint scheme, but made a few small changes...
(still waiting for the last pieces of the TWM black/titanium tank lid puzzle)

Bike looks terrific!

Very, very nice! Interesting RAM mount and brake res. location. Good thinkin'! (i.e. I'm going to steal that idea). Good thinkin' on the exhaust heat shields, also. (gonna' steal that, too!)
First time I've ever heard of someone raising their seat. Are you tall? (not going to steal that one!)

Did you make the heel guards? Little things like that make a nice bike stand out in a crowd. I've been thinking of making some with large holes to match all the 3/4" holes I drilled down the length of my chainguards.

What's the story on those nice footpegs?

FWIW, I painted my passenger peg mounts black. It makes them "disappear".

Once you change that one black ziptie holding your clutch line to a red one your bike will be perfect! 

Please tell me where you got those slick little rollers under the front wheel.

I think Statler's bike was the first time I saw them - love at first sight.
I was sceptical about how important the functional improvements were going to be, but now I'm a believer.

exhaust shields are black wrap + heavy wire mesh (from a fire place spark guard) Must be slim because of foot/ancle position.
I'm 6'3" and the raised seat makes my ergo's much better (I think stock shape looks better, but this is for function)
Rearsets are CycleCat DRS 53 - heel guards are as delivered, but powder coated (right side guard can be removed)
Actual foot peg was made by a fellow DMF'er - as spares.
I also have black passenger peg assemblies - just not on the bike, usually.
Red zip tie... yes, you're right - a couple more on the right side - thanks, I'll get it done.

It's the rockers slightly hitting the 4V valve guide seals.
If that's because the cams are larger, the seals are larger or the guides are larger/higher - I don't know.
There is no oil consumption to speak of.

I will have them inspected and repaired in Germany in June.

I have the IMA lower as well. It was plug and play, no worries. + AllBalls tapered bearings.

My reasons for wanting the Model 4 upper were: they look fantastic and that it is tapered/sloped down towards the sides. That positions the forks at almost stock height and because I raised the rear a little and have very light wheels, I needed more height than my previous SpeedyMoto allowed to maintain a minimum of stability.  The SpeedyMoto top triple requires the front to be lowered 10 mm because their profile is flat from side to side - not a problem for most bikes/riders, but it was for me.

If you'd like to avoid all the machining and custom stuff that must be done to fit the Model 4 - I suggest taking a look at their other triples/-kits.  They will be plug & play.
