Have you ever seen a shark fin / toe protector for a single swingarm?

It's not excactly plenty of places to put it - without drilling....

They are designed to keep your toes/foot out of the chain in the event of a crash.

Yes, to protect my own (or others') body parts  Shocked

Since I have a love/hate relationship to DIY solutions (a healthy portion of them look great + satisfaction / don't have a place to work on my bike) I'd prefer finding a ready made product. That's not likely, so the focus is also on a DIY solution. I have asked Woodcraft and they didn't have or know of any.

I 'painted' a steel wire and think it can be secured with hose clamps...

Probably can make something more sanitary by mounting on the caliper bolts.

Longer bolts, spacers, bracket, and shark fin bolting on from the outside.

Winner!  Please go ahead  - you're able to do it, aren't you?

I thought about the chain guard bolt location too, but we're talking about a lot of angles....

It is hard for me to imagine that the forces involved in a crash would not bend/break that kind of setup - either the wire itself or the hose clamps.

I think most of the fins available and approved would disappear if they were directly involved in a crash, but hopefully this is a somewhat protected/secondary area....  That being said, I also think you're right if what you mean is that the use of steel wire and hose clamps in any case is far from optimal.

from the size/material/mounts i've seen, they are designed to deflect a one time hit from something going towards the sprocket.

See if they would develop non-tap toe protector for the S2R swingarm.

Done  Smiley   If they have common sense they won't spend anything on developing for this one-person-niche market, but maybe they just can't resist a challenge...

Yes, I can do it.

What sprocket tooth # do you have?

Send me a PM with details... perhaps the shark fin can ride along with the heads.  bang head
