Cortese's post-race quote singlehandedly made me a GIANT fan of his.
and since i'm days late to the thread: ben. get your shit together. for make the beast with two backs's sake.
and i only scanned the other pages, but yeah, nicky's bike got lost. and i assume the 'grab a bunch of throttle and let the electronics figure it out' thing was just a joke.. cuz it doesn't work that way. like, at all.
both collars for colin.. bummer

It was a little broad, but to be fair, they open the throttle much earlier in the corner than they would have years ago. While Jorge has shown us that highsides still exist, he's also shown us that complete faith in electronics = go very fast.

Yes, but we get Greg Craptastic in trade.

Which is why I prefaced it with the highside comment. I think any rider that had experience on older bikes will tell you they can crack the throttle earlier than ever on modern machinery. You don't need for me to tell you why they spend a ton of time dicking with electronics to make sure every damn corner is mapped just right. Saying electronics doesn't drop the lap times on these bikes is crazy. I promise you they would back off a bit if they didn't trust that computer 100%.

totally. i agree with that completely. but characterizing it by saying that all you need to do is twist the throttle and hang on is.. waaaay off
