I've been looking around for some adjustable levers for my 696 and I'm not really sure what I'm looking for.  What do I need to know about the break/clutch system to find compatible levers.  I found these at MonsterParts, I'm assuming that I'll need the "Big Pivot" because of the square reservoirs (coffin reservoirs?).  Anything else to take into account?

Give Matt or Brian a call at motowheels--916.369.2509
There is an M696 project bike at the shop and there are levers in stock that they were talking about test fitting.

Thanks for the info.... It sounds like they might be test fitting a few things that I'm interested in (S4R Rearsets, Clip-ons), I'll be keeping an eye out.

Your brake side lever is this one, link is below. You need a 12mm pivot. You can use a 12mm for the clutch side as well but you will want to choose 12mm with clutch inhibitor so that you can continue to have a clutch inhibitor on your bike.

Those are long levers, install on the levers took about 5 minutes. Real simple.

Radial calipers yes, radial master cylinders no. I rode the bike home last night after the switch to CRG's and it was a definite improvement. The first thing I noticed when I first rode the bike was I didn't like the feel of the stock levers. I definitely reccomend switching to CRG levers.

guys, MOTOWHEELS is WORLD CLASS....
HIGHLY recommended...
ordered these yesterday after lunch, so maybe 1pm'ish east coast.
rolled up today to meet the fedex guy, they were already on the doorstep....!!!
BEFORE lunch...!!!
SERIOUSLY took all of five minutes to remove and replace BOTH levers....
cant wait to try them out tonight....
remove the nut from the bottom of EITHER lever, pull the bolt out the top of the lever,
replace and put the nut back in, thats it.
no cables to fit to the levers, no greasing, no adjustments.
easiest bolton ive ever done.
and DAMN they look good in person.
ive got pazzo's on my s4rs and 2006 speed triple, and these crgs are the equal to them in fit and finish,
build quality.
go get 'em now before theyre sold out....Wink

folks seem to find the stock 696 clutch engagement point too far out, and some think they must spend hundreds of $ to buy adjustable levers to cure that--
not so, the standard 696 levers are adjustable- just need a proper size screwdiver to crank-out the brass adjuster screw located near the pivot--the brass screws may be covered with a glob of glue/sealer which  needs to be scraped out of the screwdriver slot, but there's a metal clip in the lever to retain the screw and provide 'click' adjustments... loosen the clutch (or brake) side screw about one full turn to get the lever into a more natural setting---that's what the adjuster's are there for......although it isn't described in the manuals..

i vote for asv levers! they adjust 100 times vs. 6 that crg & pazzos do. much more adjustable. they also have a 5 year warranty. if you lay your bike down and they break, they'll send you a new one!
