Tell me about This Land

So the wifes family has a camp on lake Onozia, nearest town is Nicholville, NY. There's a regular gathering each summer... aaand since I've not met much of that portion of the fam, I'm a going.
But the wife is smart and suggested out of the shoot that I bring a bike with. Right now I'm planning to bring the KTM (690 Enduro).
I've punched 'Upstate NY motorcycle rides' and variants into google and the results lean towards cruiser/tour routes. So I'm still on the hunt for something more interesting. I'm figuring to stick the dirt wheels with some DS tires on the KTM so if you know some fire roads or the like those are on the table.
So - anyone know anyone about near Canada?

How about dirt tires and do some powerlines?

So I need to research more - but looks like that sorta thing is a no no in NY. spotted something about offloading on public lands being verboten
Edit
Yeah just did a dedicated search and it seems NY is pretty restrictive. Far as I can tell no public off road trails. Power lines are usually on private property - one can ride with the landowners permission or go scofflaw. But that's the case for any private property I'd assume.
So back to fire roads and "end state maintenance" stuff

We don't have fire roads in most of NH.
There are old logging roads in the north country, but the paper companies typically post them.
We do have some trails that are multi-use and motos are OK.
It figures that NY is restrictive about OHRV...they are about everything else.
How about ADVrider?
