Yep in another half arsed attempt to save us from ourselves the QLD  cops thought it would be a good idea to stage a blitz on those "dangerous motorcycles" filtering up through what is usually almost stationary traffic on coronation drive Brisbane. This caused even more traffic mayhem when all the cage drivers went in to a panic cos the cops were on the side of the road. I wasn't caught up in it but it made the news, commercial and ABC.
Oh yes they trotted out the old "less than 5% of vehicles and over 20 % of fatalities shit again. The chief cop was most apologetic for holding up the cage drivers on their way to work.
"The make the beast with two backsin monkey started it..."

Yup, the lane splitting thing is a real "being seen to be doing something" exercise [roll]
As the stats of death and injury incurred while lane splitting are bugger all.
But of course its a VERY high profile pinch [leo] cos all the "cage " drivers see the bike rider getting pinged and smirk and feel better with the authorities cos they are doing something about those lunatics on bikes. Puuuhhhlleeeeezzz [bang]

Must be a statewide thing, They have been hardcore on it up here in Cairns all this week as well.
Again I was lucky I was not caught. Retards  [evil]

If traffic is not moving (which is the only time I lane split) What's the drama with it?

I know they get Pissy with the Motorbike riders riding in the Pushbike lane (Which I completely agree with)

Surely our Traffic cops would be better off catching all the people running red lights and defective vehicles on our roads.

If vehicles aint moving it isnt dangerous to pass them (Still gotta watch the dickheads dont fling a door open and empty their ashtrays etc.) [roll]

But be careful what you wish for as far as defect notices go ;) With Termis, Staintunes etc, as well as all the rear fender mods 'n stuff on the DMF member's bikes, that could be cause for a lynching if it happened ;D [laugh]
