How different is the fit between the 1st generation (1993-1999) Monster and the 2nd generation (2000-2008) Monster.  The seats look very similar with the exception of perhaps the seat latch and the contour at the gas tank.  Anybody ever interchanged seats between these Monsters?  I'm wondering if it can be done with minor modifications.

The fit at the tank will be horrible.

The older seat will be ~1" short

There's a beautiful seat from S4Rt available in the Parts for Sale section right now at a great price.

Thanks for the info ducpainter.  That's what I was looking for.  I'm actually not looking for a stock seat, but was looking at a nice Sargent seat for the older bike and was hoping I could make it fit on my S2R1000.  I won't think about it any longer, thanks
