never apply logic to a bike purchase or you'll end up with a moped.  Evil

Or a BMW!

Fixed your post for you.  Wink

To the OP, have you considered the Streetfighter 848?  I've ridden it and it's a hell of a bike.

Get a KTM.  Super Dukes work well down there, especially around Tantalus.

RE...Dual Sport

 I had a Suzuki DRZ 400 for 4 days!!!
Dirt & trails are 30 miles away...hated that thing on the road.
FYI...I raced motocross in my younger days waytogo

Reality has set in....Monster is safe.
Traffic and wallet won't budge! Huh?

Hate to say it.....if I were to come across a Honda RR or A Yamaha R1 at the right price??? Shocked
I really would miss the Ducati sound though

I have, on multiple occasions, mistaken the sound of one of those for that of a Duc.

first of all, selling your monster would be insane. that thing looks fcuking mint, it's a working museum piece.

i keep looking at 996's and ESPECIALLY sport classics on flea bay, because they look so baller. but probably not cool with NYC traffic and my 6'4" frame.

hopefully taking an SF848 out for a demo this week -- could be the answer.

but i will not be selling my old carbie!

Thanks!!

Yeah.....this M900 is about as modded as I am willing to go.  About the only upgrade left (IMO) are new lighter wheels.   But, that is a costly upgrade and I am way over resale value in mods alone.
Yes, a SF would be a more sensible choice for me .... just not in my budget.

The 848 is a pure lustful want!!   They Ducati SBK's are just "wood" to me waytogo
But, I do use my bike for 95% of my transportation, so it has to be livable in stop in go traffic etc.

RE   Honda RC 51 seller....yeah, he does seem to be high strung!! Shocked

Don't worry about how the seller sounds.  There's a lot of BS from potential buyers on CL.  If you were ever thinking about a sportbike that can double as a commuter that RC51 is just about perfect. You should check it out.
