I am very proud to be the founder and president of DesmOhio. The cool thing is that a lot of the people who contributed had never met Darin. It was enough for them that he was a member of the club and everyone was willing to go to these lengths. This is what a DOC should be and I believe what most of them are about.

Join your local Ducati Owners Club. You may not get a free bike but you may be able to help someone in your community.

That exhaust is soo nasty. That s2r which pulled up sounded like it had core-less exhaust and it sounded so mellow compared to that 900ss.

Surprised by the level of warm-heart-awesomeness in this story I had to analyze it....  Wink

The friendship and support for 148 was already amazing, just finding a $900 SS and make it rideable.

From there to this masterpiece was probably a result of the fact (?) that the people involved aren't capable of NOT making awesomeness Cool

Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky guy to be on the receiving end of it waytogo

Enjoy the bike and your friends!!!!!

Thanks everyone.
I am so blessed to have people in my life that would do something like this.  I never would have imagined that friends would do this for me.  Nothing even close has ever happened to me before.

As you can tell by the video, I was in total shock and couldn't form sentences and was in a daze.  Later in the night though, I let it all out...and yes after a couple of drinks.

This is one of the many reasons why I love the Ducati community, I feel like I am apart of this world wide, sometimes dysfunctional (we put the FUN in dysfunctional), family.

Sorry for the length of the story, but it had to be told.  I am truly blessed to have people in my life that would do something like that.  Desmohio is the best Ducati club!
No worries.  I was just giving you a hard time. I was tired and grumpy and that was the last thread I was going to read before falling asleep.  I do love your bike.  I agree that for a cafe racer the double rear tubes of the stock SS would not have worked.  The glossy smooth black swingarm looks very classy.  They really did a nice job.  You are truly blessed with some great friends.

You know there was another bike story similar to yours.  Some of the early members built a bike for Joel (Bobspappa).  Check it out.  It is the bike at the very bottom of the BOMb page. http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php

I just watched the video.  Beautiful German Short-haired Pointer.  Is that the shop dog?

The one thing I noticed from the video is how compact the bike looks.  It seems to fit you really well.  The exhaust sounded great.  It didn't really sound overly loud from the video, but videos are notorious for not capturing the exact sound of an exhaust.  Enjoy it.

BTW, is that the Ducati shop where BlackKat works?

And yes it is the same shop BlackKat Works..lol

congrats
It was great in the video seeing how confused you were and then fairly calm and quiet because it didn't sink in.
I picture that you woke up in the middle of the night and yelled "Holy Shit!" as it finally got to you.  laughingdp  waytogo
