I don't know if you guys are aware of the new road rules,  if not check the RTA or Nrma Web site, but here ia a
low down for motorcycle. Most of these will probably not concern you guys, but just thought i will  put this up anyway

Riding on motorbikes
Any passenger carried on a motorbike (not in a sidecar) must be eight years of age or older. Children under eight are only allowed to be carried in the sidecar of a motorbike.

Sidecars must not be operated if:

The passenger is not safely seated.
The passenger is not wearing an approved helmet.
PENALTY: Three demerit points and a $243 fine. Passenger offence is a $243 fine.

Before Honda CB125N
          Suzuki GS125
Now.   Ducati 620ie
          Lambretta Li150
          Ducati S4RT

I think they also added, thou shalt not carry a dog on your tank.

Must have been some interesting research done at the RTA to come up with that one.

Unfortunately here are a couple of Laws that we have earned!! :(

I've seen waaay to many "Responsible" adults with kids on their bikes with no safety gear on and a helmet that just doesnt fit, that cant even reach the pillion pegs. Dickheads!! They have just taught their kids NOT to respect the bike or themselves. Great attitude instruction........NOT!!! >:(
And I've heard of a rider that used to carry his dog on his tank, one day the dog slipped off and caused the bike to go down with the resulting euthanasia of the dog and hospitalization of the rider and uncluding a couple of others that he was riding with. :o
I love my pets to death and no way would I put them in danger, not to mention my riding mates. Might look cute but it aint safe. [roll]

This shit only encourages the knobs at the RTA, Vic Roads and the Scruby Doo's of this world.

The demerit points are a real bit of overkill. Doesnt the NSW Guvmint realise that if they put too many people off the road their Revenue from riders/drivers will be drastically reduced??? Like I said KNOBS!!!! [roll]

. Well I sorta agree not only do I think my 5 year old isn’t able to make his on decisions as yet ,But I don’t feel confident his ability to react in time if there were any sort of emergency it up to the job.
If I wasn't who i was, I wouldn't be who I am !

Jukie

well with me i don't take any passagers, not just because im short and don't weight much and haven't alot of strength, but i don't want to be responable for injurying or killer a passenger, i just couldn't live with myself

Yeah, have to agree with you Jukie, and Dock. Happy for my precious littlies to stay safe on a cage until they are all grown up. I would never forgive myself....

dutchieal

my two sprogs jumped on the back when they were physically big enough to reach the footpegs and had enough sense to hang on. The daughter Renee was about 10 and the son, Luke, (4 yrs younger) well he was pretty keen  and I think he was  9, tallish and I think he has the "bike gene".
Tex, a friend who carries a dog on  his bike everywhere, might be in trouble, cos I think the dog hasn't reached his 8th year yet. Although, if you take into account dog years ....?!
Cheers... BIG AL

Like Jukie said I not intending to carry any passengers as I don’t want the responsibility [roll]

Thats why she bought me my bike. Obviously wasn't encouraged by my riding enough to feel safe on the back.

Eh, can't complain .... she does have a point .... and now I have a Monster!

+1 on that - My kids stay in the cage. I am happy to take risks for myself (I am well insured) but I don't want to even think about taking my kids on the back of my bike....
