pardon me, but is it a bad idea to somehow do this?..to take off my factory 696 cans and, right there where the pipes briefly meet under the seat, run them together and into a single glass pack tip?
what are the consequences of turning two exhaust pipes into one?

i think its more of looks and sound at that point, ive seen some systems for the new monsters that are 2 into 1, im sure it would work fine, but wouldnt you rather get a different midpipe and sell your 696 pipe for a grip if you are going to modify it anyways, i know a lot of 1100/796 guys(myself included) would totally want a 696 midpipe

You talking like an off-the-shelf car muffler?  I don't see why it wouldn't work.  Just get the shiny stainless one.

yeah, something like that...I took the cans off and she sounded rich and tasty...she sounded like she was 2,000 leagues under the sea before.
I just thought maybe a local mufflerologist could make me a little adapter and boom there goes the dynamite...
