Why would you guide the SF848 into the side of a mountain?

'Cuz Spidey's a crashin'-mo-fo.  That's why.

Me?  If I got the 900SS, I use it as a make the beast with two backs-you urban assualt bike, rattle can it black, put a buncha stupid stickers on it, and mount a machete sheath, a giant dildo, or a shotgun holder on it.  With an Elmo doll.   Then I'd take the left-over money I was gonna spent on an 848 SF and get a already-prepped  SV650 race bike and put together a race/track budget for the next year or so. Not sure what I'd use the 620 for, but it might be my back-up bike.

Miss you Spidey...

IMO streetfighters are stripped down sportbikes (not necessarily SBKs), and they're made, not bought.

Most of the moto companies make fantastic naked sportbikes...but they're not streetfighters IMO (despite the name).

Duck Off...if you have the time, money, patience and contacts (to make things you can't), then I'd build one. It's fun...and a great winter project if you live somewhere you can't ride in the winter.

I say build one if you have the inclination, the skills, the time and the money.  I can see my 848 turning into a streetfighter someday..........but not anytime soon.  Grin

You've got a pretty stripped down street bike in the 620 already.
If it was me looking for a project I'd find a SS and build a sport tourer.

That triple 9 above is insanely sexy at the tail section.  Can you combine that tail with this 996? haha

One of the biggest 'streetfighter' elements is the switch from clipons to bars.

well I'll be taking both 2012 SF for test rides in the next week.  Should have a better idea of what I'd be getting for the money after that. Maybe I'll love it maybe I'll decide I'd rather build from a 9XX. We'll see. I've already been scoping out 90's Ducati 9XX bikes on Craigslist. My concern would be end of life parts that would keep requiring changes. I've got the Winter to build and the money to spend but not a lot of time with this new job. So I'm still undecided for now.

yes, which he made incredibly more usable and comfortable when he did that...those things suck to ride in their stock form IMHO....
