What happened to the blue S4R?

Paid the deposit and went for final inspection and it was revealed that the owner dropped it on right and left side.  Bike had dents where the clipons touched.  Got my deposit back and got the S4.  No SSS love for me on this one but still a beaut.

<side question> Do I turn my S2R into a track bike or keep two beauty queens in the garage?  Did Cal. Superbike School again this year and would like to do more track days.  Getting $$$ using their machines vs. mine, just worried about tracking my S2R in current form and laying it down
</side question>

3rd bike... track bike. SV650 with full plastics with a few farkles. Ride the ever loving piss out of it and not worry about. Monsters don't make the greatest track bikes, and you'd be looking at a good bit of $$$ and hassle to fit it with some fairings and such.

That sucks. Did,they lower the price due to the dents?

I'd sell the s2r and get a different track bike where parts are cheap and plentiful.

They offered to lower the price to around $5300.00 but I would still have to fix dents which would cost about $400.  With mileage and dents I thought the S4 would be a better choice and as we discussed Ducpond is a reputable shop.

Can't sell the S2R unless I remove some of the aftermarket parts (OZ wheels, steering damper, swap triples and controls, seat and 999 forks) .  Would lose too much $$$ if sold in current state.

Wonder how much different the 999 forks are from the 916's

Anyone have any experience with Battlax 003R's?  Came on the S4.  Never ridden on Bridgestone's before and understand these are race tires and not road tires.  Thinkin I need to swap these sooner rather than later if I plan on riding this in the winter months....

If you go with the tail chop, the cans might be a tad too long. That's about all I would change on it.

+11tybillion on getting a beater for the track. SV's make for excellent beaters.

The 003s are street sports - in line with the Pirelli Super Corses. Soft and sticky, but don't expect them to last too long.

Agreed.  I have a set of shotgun style Arrow's for my S2R that I hope I can retrofit to the S4 with the right brackets, etc.   Not a fan of Termi's but that's just me (others will disagree).

Also turns out from exchanges with the previous owner, the bike has:
PowerCommander tuned by Eraldo Ferracci
CycleCat clutch cover
DP slipper clutch

Time to get aquainted with her over the few remaining weekends.

Just hope my S2R doesn't  get jealous of her new mancave mate.....

~~~SNIP~~~
If you get the headpipes from an S4R Arrows system, they *may* work with the S2R cans and midpipe.
But I'd check directly with Arrows first.
You'll definitely need to add a bracket to the frame to hold the cans, S4 doesn't have one.
And even Ducabike rearsets may conflict with the midpipe, check that as well.
I like 15/39 gearing on my S4.
