Hi all Just switched out my top triple and installed clip ons etc, and found that my forks don't sit all the way in the top triple. As you can see in the photo, they're about 3 1/4 of the way up. I'm guessing this is because the speedymoto triple is flat, where the oem triple has the steering nut hole a little higher than the fork holes. I'm unsure wether it is safe like this? It doesnt look like it....Can anyone offer some advice as to a good method of getting my forks to sit flush with the top triple? Is it as simple as just loosening the pinch bolts on the lower triple and sliding them up? Any advice would be appreciated.... Cheers

Edited for clarity, and to get my post count up so I can post in the classified section... oh wait, that's a different board.

hmmm.... something aint right but i can't work out what does your steering lock bolt engage with the machined cut-out in the speedy triple correctly? are you the first owner of this bike? could a previous owner have dropped the forks in the triples 10mm or so??

Second owner but I doubt the po would have lowered the forks. Bike was stock standard when I got it, and by the looks of the oem triple, it seems it is at factory height... I was just curious wether others had the same issue and how they dealt with it...
The steering nut seems to be engaged with the triple ok...

I think it's just that the Speedymoto triple is thicker where the tubes slide in.
If you raise the tubes to sit flush the bike will turn in quicker...just be aware.

speedymoto triple isnt thicker, but it is flat ____________ __ whereas stock triple is drop-shouldered ___/ \___ but on my 696 and 1100 all this meant is that the Speedy triple clamps the stanchion tubes higher than deos the stock triple.... but theres still some fork tube above the top surface of the speedy triple (just not as much above as with the stock triple)... something here isnt right and I'm buggered if I can figure out what it is

All normal. It is because the speedymoto triple is flat, and the stock piece is not as mentioned above.
Your going to have to silde the fork tubes up into the top triple clamp. Handling will be affected. How you deal with the is up to you.
Many ways to go about fixing it, and info should be availabe with a little bit of search-fu here.

hmmm so speedymoto top triple is only a fit for S4R if you're prepared to alter turn-in....

hmm... You can add cycle cat to that list also. It all depends on how the bike is set up. If the forks are already passing up through the triple clamp like some do (e.g. 620), you might not have to do anything, and they'll end up flush.

I can't believe every single person that's EVER bought a flat top triple had this issue and didn't bring it up before.
