Yes, and the original dealer procedure required head removal.

They're a tapered collet style on the closers, not half rings

Yes, I am confused too. Are you saying if you were an epileptic blacksmith you would hit it, or you find epileptic blacksmiths appealing and would like to "hit" one? Or do you not like blacksmiths with epilepsy?
And this isn't a Harley site, so I'm not sure where smithing comes in at all. I thought Ducati frames were all chromoly and/or aluminum?

I pretty much agree with what Randy said about track bikes.

But a 749S at that price ... I'd hit it like an epileptic blacksmith!  laughingdp

I've seen this in that movie Miss March... painfull...

Did a few laps with the fairings off to test the clutch and get a sence of the riding position, etc...
