I have a 2010 1100S.  I would like to find a seat that places my ass up an inch and back an inch.  Quite possibly I need a custom seat but I'd like to know if there are any new aftermarket seats that would work.  I'm trying to reduce knee bend due to an old injury.

Yup.

I have the DP comfort/touring seat on my M1100, its taller... not sure it'd be a full inch taller though.  But its vastly more comfortable than the stock seat as the additional height is up front, so you dont feel like you're bollocking the tank all the time.

I'll give the comfort seat a try.  $250 is not bad for a new seat, I might even get lucky and find a good used one.  thanks for the info.

I just bought the touring seat,  it felt great  when we put it on a Monster in the showroom.  I can get my foot fully on the peg now.  I might not have to lower the pegs now.

Like others has stated it allows you sit back more than the stock seat.  I'm not humping the tank anymore.  No more knee pain, in fact I may not need the lower pegs I ordered before I bought the seat.

I put Woodcraft rear sets on, but now I'm hurting...my knee that is the leg I broke a few years ago hurts like a bugger after a few miles. The rear sets are awesome, they put me more on top of the bike, but I need a taller seat for sure. I currently have the Sargent Normal height 696 seat, just wondering if more material can be added to bring it up.

My comfort seat is wearing out at the front and I'm sliding to the front like the stock seat, time for a custom seat.

I HATED my DP comfort seat!!!!  Not any more comfortable than stock and an inch higher.  I went with a 350.00 Saddlemen seat and never looked back.  They are a great company and as someone who bought a seat that was not "quite right" from them I can safely say they will make it right if you don't like it!

I will do a full review soon but lets just say the first one was not right and now I have two, one a full blown custom.  Good people you could do worse.
