really? Pretty sure K&N pods dont have an internal venturi. Or is that just hype?

Maybe they were comparing K&N and BMC panel filters.
The two types of K&N pod filters I have tried on two sets of FCRs had no inner tapered velocity stack, but a right angle step on each occasion.
That is not to say there aren't pods with a good velocity stack built in, or room to accommodate one like in Ducshop or TPO kits.

filters on the old IE monsters (stock airbox) were flat, square filters. no internal anything. BMC looked pretty much exactly like the K&N
