I don't understand how these supposed "Ducati" dealers stay clueless and in business  Roll Eyes

DNA should weed some of them out, they only hurt he brand!

I just emailed Pro-Itilia, hope they can help.  My local dealer is Moto Corsa in Portland.  They are actually pretty good, except for the key issue.  Ill be doing my own maintenance and getting my parts online so I won't be seeing them much besides that their 100 miles away.

Say hey to Miles in parts for me if you go back there.

He's a good guy and a really knowledgeable parts person.

This is crazy.  I can't get a Ducati card or key period.   I guess this means that if you lose your card and keys your only option is to part it out.  I will get a couple of keys cloned but I still think this deal is fawked.  If you ever buy a used bike make sure you get the keys and card.

i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

Also, for those of you who havent scratched off your code card yet, make sure to do so and take a pic of the code on there and then store it on your computer/online.  Makes it so if you ever lose your card you still have the info you need to get some new keys.

you can buy a complete key/lock set from Ducati but again, the code card is dependent on the ECU. the only way to fix it is to flash the ecu.

I didn't buy a 749 in the past for this very reason. He didn't have all the keys, so I said, no. It was like $2k to fix the issue.

Not so on the new bikes. I think the key is coded to the dash. I've swapped stock ECUs in my M1100s a couple of times without flashing them with no problems.  waytogo

But the test for key and dash comes from ecu
that's why reflash works

now swapping dash might get u new key code but dna will answr that
