question about major service interval 7500.

Guys, this is my first ducati.. so sorry if this is a noob question.  Im soon due for 7500 service. 

1. Does this service have to be done at the official local "ducati delaership", or can I take it to a shop who employs "ducati certified" technicians?

2.  If I take it to the shop with "ducati certified techs", how do i prove that the 7500 mile service was performed?

3. Which would you be more comfortable with stealership, or private shop with certfied techs?

I greatly appreciate your feedback on the above, I only have 400 more miles to make this decision.

You can take your bike where you wish.

Just save the receipt. Make sure the shop details what was performed/replaced.

What dp said.  If a shop won't provide a detailed receipt (ask before you agree to any work being done) I probably wouldn't use them.

I just completed my 7,500 mile service...@ 8,300 miles.   

My dealer (Ducati of Newport Beach) quoted me @ $750ish which included the full service of fluid changes and valve adjustment.  Not terrible, but I looked around locally for other options.  I posted in the SoCal section and a few people highly recommended Motoservizio.  You can certainly take it to another place for service if you so choose.  Just make sure it's documented.

This was a concern of mine since I commute 100 miles daily to work.  I have a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty from the dealer so I want to make sure they will honor it.  At 3 years at my rate, I'll have a ton of miles, so this warranty is useful to me.

Anyway, I'm not sure I should quote Motoservizio's price, but it was significantly better than the dealer's.  BTW, there's no need to go at EXACTLY 7,500 miles.  I went almost 1K miles more and that's with me riding 100 miles a day.

Man, $750 is quite high for a 2 valve motor.  I paid $550 which I still thought was a bit high for my M1100 EVO.  I went with the dealer just for peace of mind and that way if I have any more issues with the bike they can't claim it was from work someone else did.  I still have 1 more year of the factory warranty on the bike.
