I often ride in places where there's no phone coverage. Frequently in places where I don't encounter too many passers-by either.
So I bought one of these:
So if I end up broken and wounded up shit creek somewhere, at least they'll know where to find my corpse
Click the link below to follow my progress - or lack of it. Whenever I have the device activated the map is updated every ten minutes.

Cool, I wish it gave a few more details, like distance traveled in total/between updates.

Yeah, that would be good. Guess it would only be a vague indication anyway since all it does is record "as the crow flies" between each check-in.
Also I notice that even though its supposed to transmit a location check-in every 10 minutes, it goes missing under heavy tree coverage. There was a couple of check-ins a half hour or more apart.

I use one of these while i am backpacking. I have been thinking of carrying it on my motorcycle. They are nice because there is the emergency button if something really bad happens but there are a couple ways to send emails from it.

BTW Ungerheuer, I ripped off your Ducati colours theme in your sig! Hope you don't mind.
Imitation is said to be the best form of flattery! LOL!
I'll buy you a drink when my brother and I get to catch up with you, hopefully sometime this Spring-Summer riding season.
