Those are great options for practically new bikes

congrats! nice color too and now you have money for some pipes.
I'd personally go with someone like Leo Vance or Zard instead of TErmi

Have them fit a 14T front sprocket to it before you pick it up. Thank me later...

Thanks for the pats on the back... Glad to be in the Monster seat. Just a little sad it's so late in the season...
Curmudgeon: I hear that gets rid of the lower RPM shutter. I will send a message out to them and see what they can do. Its a consignment bike, so I'm not sure they'll do anything to it until they see some dolla dolla bills! And after a 5 hour drive to get it, I'm not sure how long I'll want to stick around there. I rather scoot home and

Actually, it does a bit more than that! You may find that you need no exhaust mods, unless of course, you like to make noise. The stock cans are not all that quiet by current standards. And without a 14T, you won't see 6th gear very often.
Let them put $100 on a card. I believe that's supposed to be a pretty decent dealer..., and they KNOW you need it.

If you don't mind me asking curmudgeon, how much (ballpark) is that mod? I'm thinking if I pay for that first, they'll either still sell the bike to me or sell a bike with a free mod...
I guess I'll drop an email and see what happens!

What? You didn't give him a credit card deposit subject to inspection???!!! (I was a high-line car salesman for 40 years before retiring.
)
The sprocket is ~ $35- and the labor should be at least 1/2 hr. if they are "kind". The chain needs to be re-tensioned to the measurement on the label on the SS swing arm. They need a special tool for that. It will be good to adjust it perfectly now as the chain will have done its initial stretch. I had mine re-adjusted at 900 miles.
Consignment or not, they should be willing to do this for no more than $100 total. Make SURE they use the right one for a 796!!! This is CRITICAL.

The Driven Racing part is #1067-525-14T.

Great find. Glad you got a better color (Black on Red is wayyyy better).
Now is a good time of year to be shopping for a bike-people don't want to store them over the winter.
+1 on the 14T sprocket. As Curmudgeon said, should be looking about $100 installed.

Glad you found a better deal.
I think it is a good idea to ride a bike before you start modding it. Get some seat time, then decided what you want to change. Not saying it doesn't need a 14T front sprocket (really popular mod for 796), but you should make up your own mind about it.
Now go put some miles on that bike.

I suppose getting some two-wheel time in would be appropriate before the snow falls. I have all winter to fantasize and plan upgrades and mod.
Detroit: I've just started following your mod thread, and like everyone else, I'm jealous of your shop. I like the way your bike is shaping up. Let us all know when you start producing parts!

I agree with Detroit, ride the bike as is before you start changing anything. I changed to a 14 tooth as well, but people are different. I found it to be a "nice" mod, not the greatest thing ever in the world...ever. And it is an easy mod to do yourself if you have ever handled a wrench.
I'm not saying don't do it, but make up your mind yourself. Besides, if you have it changed before YOU ever ride it, you will ALWAYS wonder, "What was this thing like with the 15 tooth?". This way you'll know.
Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I'm sure there are some instructions somewhere around here for swapping sprockets. I've held a screw-driver before, so it shouldn't be too hard.
