Has anyone had any experience with EarthX batteries?

I need a new batt to crank my bike. I wanted to try earthx since they have a balancing system built into it, so i can avoid buying shorais charger (also trying to buy american if its as good as shorai.) the only issue is, i need the bike to crank over in sub freezing temps, ~10-15 degrees on the low end. Im not sure if its better if i just stick with lead acid.

That built in battery mgt system is a bonus and worth the extra 300-400 grams. You would want the strongest one that will fit. How does the price compare to Shorai ? Edit: I checked. Substantially more expensive, but you get the BMS with each one. If you had a few bikes, I would run Shorai batteries and get the BMS charger, but try the EarthX if you only had one bike.

there are a bunch of guys in the local Ducati club that race ( even when it is below 30 and they have to start the bike to go to Tech for inspection yadda yadda) and use -> http://www.fullspectrumpower.com/products.html  which is made in Sterling, VA and he stands behind his product fully.

I am running an 8 cell Ballistic Performance battery.  Very happy with it, and no issues cold starting down into 30s.  They are out of Houston, Texas.

My experience with them is that they have good customer service,
but shipped and tax'ed I would pay $425 for this battery.

I'm sure they are good though  Undecided

I just picked one up for my M900. Stupidly small and light, I like the built in bms. Quality looks nice although the seam in the case is a little open. It cranks the bike awesomely, never looks like running out of puff. Can't comment on cold weather performance, cos I live in Australia.

is there any literature on it have a system that prevents over discharging as well as over charging?

i emailed earthx, but got no reply.

I dont want to leave the key in the on position and kill the battery making it worthless. with lead acid...atleas tits only 50 bucks. and u can normally bring it back to life.

I ordered a Shorai charger today. I have two bikes and customers are starting to use them so the balance charging and diagnostics will be useful. I am developing  a good relationship with the new  importer/distributor. I checked out the earthx website and it wasnt that informative. You may have more luck. At least two sponsors sell Shorai and their service and back up are great. My hi comp 900 cranks to life with a Shorai LFX18 no probs in cold weather, (down to 0° C). Thats as cold as it gets where I am.
The LFX 18 has 270 amps cold and 320+ at 20°C. Enough for your bike I revkon.

HeMan, if you click on the belissimoto link a few posts above, part of the paragraph in orange state:
Quote
Inside every one of our batteries is a microprocessor Battery Management System (BMS) that monitors the charge level of each cell and balances the charge when needed, protecting the cells from overcharge or over-discharge. What this means for you is more starting power, longer battery life, and the safest lithium motorsport battery on the market.

I have a cheap Die Hard trickle charger, it worked fine on a completely dead Shorai battery.  You just have to make sure the charger doesn't have whatever it is Shorai expressly recommends against and you can get a less expensive charger for them.
